Place2Talk
Place2Talk is a mental health service that allows pupils to make an appointment to spend 15-30 minutes with a trained counsellor, alone or with a friend, to discuss any difficulties they might have. Balgreen’s pastoral team or safeguarding staff members can also make referrals for children and young people.
Place2Talk aims to give children the tools and skills they need to deal with things in a healthy and constructive way. It is issue-based and solution-focused.
In most school years, around a third of Balgreen pupils will use this mental health support service – either for themselves or to support their friends.
Parents and carers should be given information about how to consent for your child to access Place2Talk when you start at Balgreen, or at other points throughout school.
