On your first day, you should come to the P1 and P2 playground. When the bell rings, your class teacher will show you where to line up with the rest of your class.
After the first day, we ask that adults stand back from the line. Some children become overwhelmed if there are too many adults close to the line. You will be surprised how quickly the children learn to line up independently!
Families will receive information about classes and teachers in the Primary 1 information packs.

Your classroom will look quite similar to your nursery as we follow a play-based learning approach in Primary 1. The rooms will still have lots of exciting play areas but will also have a teaching area and a table for group work.
Our school colours are Jade and Black and can be worn in all the following ways. You can find out more about school uniform here.
You will be given a coat peg in the corridor outside your classroom. This will be labelled with your name and is where you will hang your coat, school bag and PE kit.
You should bring a warm and waterproof coat to school as we go outside to play even when it is raining. You should also bring a school bag to keep your water bottle, lunch box, snack and school work in.
You will be asked to bring clothes for PE in a drawstring bag which will be kept on your coat peg. More information about this will be shared in the Primary 1 information session in June.
You should bring a small snack to eat during the morning break. This should be a healthy item, such as a piece of fruit, a small sandwich or a cereal bar. All children should bring in a water bottle containing water or diluting juice, Children will have access to this throughout the day.
We do not encourage children to bring sweets or fizzy drinks to school.
You will go to eat your lunch in the school hall. You can order a school lunch or bring your own packed lunch from home. Once you have eaten your lunch, you will go outside to play in the playground.
Your teacher will show you where the toilets are on your first day in school. They are close to the Primary 1 classroom. You can go to the toilet whenever you need to go but don’t forget to wash your hands after you have been!
