Balgreen Culture Day

At Balgreen, we are very proud of our diversity and want to celebrate and raise awareness of the many and varied cultures, languages, nationalities and religions represented by our pupils. To that end, and responding to the wonderful ideas of the pupils themselves, we would like to let you know about Balgreen Culture Day which will take place on Wednesday 8th June.

Children are invited to come to school on 8th June wearing something which they feel reflects their culture - national colours, a national costume, party outfit for a festival / celebration etc. We would also like to invite pupils to "share" something from their culture such as a song, story, a poem, words in their home language, a recipe, an object or photograph. Over the course of the day, pupils will have the opportunity to share this with their classmates and we will come together at school assembly to celebrate.

This is entirely voluntary and children can participate and contribute if they would like.
