Balgreen PS Book Week Scotland/ Wear what you want day
Monday 14th marks the start of Book Week Scotland and will see pupils at Balgreen Primary School undertake a range of activities to promote a love of reading.
From next week we plan to:
- Run a whole school book swap (please send in books on Friday or Monday that you have finished with. Children will then have the chance to swap these for a new book)
- Library visits as well as seeing pupils supported in signing up to get a library card
- Begin Reading Ambassadors pupil group (pupil led groups promoting the enjoyment of reading)
- Mystery teacher reader day- different readers will visit classes to read stories to the children
- Classroom activities
- P1-3 Read Write Count book bug activities
Tomorrow (Friday 11th November) is also a Wear What You Want day where pupils may wear clothing of their own choice.
We are asking for donations to be sent into school on Friday that will be part of our fundraising for a new projector/sound system for our gym hall. This will support assemblies, class performances and social events.
