It is with some sadness that I am announcing that Julia Kerr, our Outdoor Learning Champion is returning to her role as a swimming instructor from next week now we have moved out of lockdown. Mrs Kerr has been with us since August when the city's pools were closed as a result of COVID. She has delivered amazing learning experiences in our local woodland with all the classes and we have loved seeing her pictures of her work on Twitter. She will continue to work one day a week in Primary 3a and this will be returning to Mondays, starting with Monday 10th May. Using the skills and knowledge Mrs Kerr has passed onto school staff classes will continue to use the woodland until the end of term.
Some of you will be aware of an incident that took place on Pansy Walk yesterday morning when a member of the public became unwell and required first aid from school staff and then required an ambulance. Jess in P6's dad was an amazing help so thanks to him for his support, skill and care.
In line with new COVID guidance Primary 1 and 2 are starting to use the gym hall for indoor PE for some of their PE. They are very excited!
We hope you enjoy your long weekend and we look forward to having pupils back in school on Wednesday 5th May.
Kind regards,
Balgreen Primary School
